麻豆相关报道Launches Start South Program for High School Students

High school students can greatly reduce the cost and time necessary to earn a degree at the 麻豆相关报道 by enrolling in the Start South program, a new initiative that allows students to earn college credit while in high school. Students who complete nine or more credit hours while maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA (on a 4.0 scale) by August 15th of their senior year will qualify for automatic admission to South.
All courses are taught by 麻豆相关报道faculty, and students have access to University support services. Most instruction is online, with some on-campus experiences. The program satisfies prerequisites for majors in Allied Health, Arts & Sciences, Business, Computing, Education, Engineering and Nursing.
鈥淲e鈥檙e extremely excited to build a deeper connection with high schools in our region,鈥 said Dr. Andi Kent, dean of the College of Education and Professional Studies. 鈥淭he Start South program not only provides an opportunity for students to receive exemplary academic instruction, but also to make connections with our University community.鈥
Eligibility requirements are high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with 3.0 GPA and letter from their school鈥檚 guidance counselor or principal. Start South students can earn up to a maximum of 30 credit hours toward their degree.
