The Alabama Senate and House of Representatives have approved a joint praising the 麻豆相关报道 Health system鈥檚 mission of education, research and clinical care as well as highlighting some top national rankings recently received by .

The local delegation to the Alabama Legislature gathered recently to present the resolution to 麻豆相关报道President Tony Waldrop and top officials from 麻豆相关报道and 麻豆相关报道Health.

鈥淲e appreciate the recognition of 麻豆相关报道and 麻豆相关报道Health by our elected officials,鈥� Dr. Waldrop said. 鈥淭hey are great advocates for our region, and they understand our role as the region鈥檚 only academic medical center.鈥�

麻豆相关报道Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean of the College of Medicine Dr. John Marymont said that the legislative support makes a difference to 麻豆相关报道students, researchers and clinicians.

鈥淎s we fulfill our tripartite mission of education, research and clinical care, our elected officials are advocating on our behalf,鈥� he said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 gratifying to know they understand and support our mission as the only academic medical center in this region and its importance to the state of Alabama.鈥�

麻豆相关报道Health Chief Executive Officer Owen Bailey said the resolution would be meaningful to the clinical care providers who offer high-level, unique services, such as the region鈥檚 only Level 1 Trauma Center, burn center, high-risk obstetrics, neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit.
